Walter Chavarria is very pleased with what he considers his best investment in ages. Concerned about the high monthly electricity consumption of the Ch Ch supermarket of which he’s owner he decided to switch to renewable energy. He asked Purasol to make him a quote for an installation that would cover his electricity requirements.
Purasol was according to him a logical choice: ‘Purasol is a serious and responsible company that imports the best quality for similar projects. Besides products come guaranteed and have the appropriate ICE approval ‘, says Walter Chavarria.
He now has 100 solar panels covering 200m2 of the warehouse roof and he is waiting to be connected to the grid because his system will be interactive: it will produce electricity for their own use and the excess will be transferred to the ICE grid. This means he’ll only have to pay ICE’s minimum and when the system can’t produce enough electricity he can use ICE’s electricity for free up to the amount previously transferred to the grid (Plan Piloto).
Saving from the start
‘Just by making calculations one can see that I’m already saving money because for the credit from the Banco Nacional I’m paying only 347,000 col. per month what is 153,000 col. below the ICE bill which is usually about 500,000 col., with the additional advantage that within 10 years all equipment will be paid for and will be mine’, adds this enterprising businessman from Peñas Blancas.
Now he also has a clear conscience knowing that his company leaves less impact on the environment and can help to avoid the need to change a river bed for hydroelectric projects. ‘It’s better to divide the electricity production between ICE subscribers rather than leave it to a private company, ’concludes Walter Chavarria.
